Join us on an unforgettable adventure as we explore Utah's EPIC landmarks in Moab, Arches National Park, and Canyonlands National Park! In this video, we take you through breathtaking landscapes, stunning rock formations, and iconic vistas that make these parks a must-visit for nature lovers and adventure seekers alike.
After months of feeding our Starlink cable through the front storage compartment of our Airstream Flying Cloud 27FBQ, under our bed and to the router, we finally made the update to the outside of the Airstream and fished a cable inside in order to have a clean install.
While we were in Oklahoma I had a few things that needed to be done on the airstream. Cleaning the AC return, cleaning the front windows, and lubricating the door latch mechanism.
We staying near Chattanooga, TN for a week at Lineman RV Park. There are so many things to do in Chattanooga, there was no way we could see everything. We picked a few place we thought would be fun, interesting, and a little educational - Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park seeing both Chickamauga Battlefield and Point Park, Cloudland Canyon State Park, Lodge Museum of Cast Iron, and riding the Incline Railway to the top of Lookout Mountain.
Our stop in North Carolina took us to the Blue Ridge Parkway for a scenic drive and a few stops. Crabtree Falls was a great 3 mile hike and had a payoff of being able to stop at the water fall for about 30 minutes to take it all in. Our stop in Little Switzerland gave us some perspective of the small towns that thrive on tourism. The Switzerland Lodge has an amazing overlook to the mountains and the Switzerland Cafe had an amazing lunch for us.
Cleaning the AC return on an Airstream can be a real pain in the neck. Luckily Phill from NOLOX has a kit that can help with that.
We have been in Central Florida for 5 weeks and found out fast that in the heat of the day, a tin can in the sun, doesn't like to cool off.
We spent the last month near Orlando, Florida. The whole stay was done at Johnston Springs RV Park in Kissimmee. The video walks through the goods and bads of the park, looking at the offerings at the park (dog park, volleyball court, bath house, laundry, ponds, and mail delivery).
This is how we do laundry while living full-time in our rv, an Airstream Flying Cloud.
Starlink V3 is a GODSEND for RV Living & Buffalo National River
We visited Arkansas in May and had a wonderful time at Buffalo National River. During our trip, we got to go on some great hikes, we went fishing on the river, and we spent hours kayaking down the river.
Digging for Diamonds and Visiting Hot Springs National Park - Did we find some?
We went digging for diamonds ๐ at Crater of Diamonds State Park in Murfreesboro, Arkansas and explored bathhouse row ๐ at Hot Springs National Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. This was en route to the main stop of our trip, Buffalo Point Campground.
Sticky Airstream Windows (Solved) and Palo Dura State Park, Canyon TX
Our next stop on the first leg of this journey took us to Palo Duro State Park in Canyon, Texas. Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the United States. In a lot of ways, I thought it was a little more impressive than the Grand Canyon. The most glaring difference is how easy it is to get to the bottom of the canyon.
We did a few hikes around the area we were staying in, the Hackberry Campground.
After Cherry Creek State Park, we made our way south to Trinidad Lake State Park in Trinidad, Colorado. Not a long trip, but a good one in between campgrounds. Here we were able to go on a few really fun hikes including Levsa Canyon Trail, some of Reilly Canyon Trail as well as a few walks around the lake.
We Sold Our House, We're on the Road + Dewinterizing the Airstream Flying Cloud 27FB
A little surprise in this video, we sold our house and are hitting the road! That doesn't change our plans to head to Oklahoma and Arkansas this summer, but it did create an opportunity to get out and do some more camping earlier in the season.
We are getting ready for a busy camping season. In preparation we spent some time making sure everything survived the winter as well as figuring out how to use our limited space while we plan a multi-week trip.
2 Quick RV Upgrades - Changing to USB-C outlets and replacing Airstream Storage Locks
This week we installed our new Micro-Air Easy Touch Thermostat, replacing our Domestic thermostat that came installed in our Airstream Flying Cloud 27FBQ. This was a very simple install and we spent a little time near the end of the video showing off the bluetooth connectivity.
We go through and discuss the tools we carry in our Airstream and how we use them. These are some must-have tools for us while we travel.
Would you like to tour our 2023 Airstream Flying Cloud 27 ft with a queen bed and a hatch? Come along as we show you the inside of our 27' Flying Cloud.
With 4" of snow forecasted for tomorrow, it's time we wrap up the camping season by winterizing our 2023 Airstream Flying Cloud 27FBQ. We take you through the steps week took to winterize our Airstream Flying Cloud.
While boon docking, we decided to use our oven in our Airstream 27FBQ. Today we make Betty Crocker's Ultimate Chocolate Chip Cookies! This recipe is easy, it would be easier to not make all by hand; but was fun to try baking these chocolate chip cookies.
We boondocked in our Airstream Flying Cloud 27FB for the first time while visiting Rio Grande National Forest in the San Juan Mountains. The campground is located at Big Meadows Reservoir in South Fork, CO. The location is very remote - no hookups, no city lights, and cell phone service. We enjoyed our days by hiking the Cascade Falls trail as well as the Meadows Loop which goes around the entire Big Meadows Reservoir. We also fished the Big Meadows Reservoir for rainbow trout. Getting away to such a remote location was extremely relaxing.
Our first official trip with the Airstream Flying Cloud is in the books and it took us to Sugarite Canyon State Park, just east of Raton, New Mexico. The state park had a ton to offer! We were there for 3 nights.
The Lake Alice campground had water and electrical hookups as well as a dump station on the way out. Camphosts were awesome and we were told twice that we had the best spot in the Lake Alice campground and all of the Sugarite Canyon State Park. Showers were available near the ranger station on the south side entrance. It was a quick walk to the lake-to-lake trailhead.
Prior to our first camping trip, we installed a few things in our 2023 Airstream Flying Cloud 27FQ: a leveling system, a tire pressure monitoring system, and battery-operated LED lights in the bathroom.
The LevelMate Pro+ install https://levelmate.com was an easy install and only took a few minutes. The install of the Tire Minder TPMS i10 system https://www.tireminder.com proved to be a little more challenging. Once we got everything figured out, it became more clear what was going on. And we briefly discuss the setting configuration options as well as the different alerts for the TireMinder TPMS.
We purchased a new 2023 Airstream Flying Cloud 27FBQH! Last week we said goodbye to our 2018 Airstream Basecamp 16 , check out that video https://youtu.be/66ujit3m__w This week we talk through purchasing our new Airstream Flying Cloud 27FBQ with hatch from Bill Thomas RV https://www.btcamper.com in Wentzville, MO. Bill Thomas RV is a Five Rivet Dealer and one of the oldest Airstream dealerships in the US. We are very excited about our new 2023 27' Airstream travel trailer. It has so much extra space!
