Sticky Airstream Windows (Solved) and Palo Dura State Park, Canyon TX

Our next stop on the first leg of this journey took us to Palo Duro State Park in Canyon, Texas. Palo Duro Canyon is the second largest canyon in the United States. In a lot of ways, I thought it was a little more impressive than the Grand Canyon. The most glaring difference is how easy it is to get to the bottom of the canyon.

We did a few hikes around the area we were staying in, the Hackberry Campground. I am sure the mountain biking here would have been great, however Nick was still dealing with his torn ligament, so we decided not to do that.

Olive and Bosley had a great time on the hikes and Lou got to do a lot of walking around the campground to meet our neighbors.

We had two issues with our trailer on this trip. The first was that our step was not staying up during travel. We found that the issue was that is wasn't moving enough to completely clip in. We used some WD-40 and that seems to have corrected the issue. The other was our MaxxFan would not open up. The cover was getting hung up and not opening, so we just helped it out once and the problem was solved.

Also in this video, we cover how to correct sticky Airstream windows. We opened the windows with the assistance of a trim tool, then cleaned the rubber and finally applied some silicone 3 in 1 oil to the surface. So far this seems to have solved the issue.

We will visit Palo Dura again and spend some more time there.
