Starlink is a GODSEND for RV Living & Buffalo National River [2024]
We visited Arkansas in May and had a wonderful time at Buffalo National River. During our trip, we got to go on some great hikes, we went fishing on the river, and we spent hours kayaking down the river.
Our first hike on from the C Campground to the Group camping area resulted in all of us all getting some ticks to take home with us, and Olive really got it the worst. Once we removed them and started wearing DEET 24/7, we had this problem taken care of.
We hiked to the Indian Rockhouse twice. It was a beautiful hike with waterfalls, pools of water, and at the end of the hike there is a large area that was once used to live under. Much like Mesa Verde in Colorado, the intuition to utilize a pre-built area to save yourself from the weather, hot/cold wet/dry, is incredible.
We left Arkansas and immediately had to do laundry, so we used our first stop in Fulton Mississippi to get all of that done. Emily learned to keep an eye open for larger washing machines during this trip.
Finally, Nick gives an update on how Starlink V3 is working for us on the road. It has been a great addition to our packout allowing us connection even in the most remote areas. Something to keep in mind is that you need a view of the northern sky, which we did not have at Crater of Diamonds. In MS and AL, we had a great connection and the fastest we have seen is in Florida where we are getting near 300 Mbps.
