From Greece to Tennessee: Exploring the Parthenon & Conquering Trails at Harpeth River State Park!

I had a quick weekend trip to Nashville with a good friend of mine. We spent just over 48 hours in Nashville, so we had to make every minute count. We were excited to tour the city and view all that it has to offer.

What are some things to do in Nashville? We didn’t want to concentrate our trip in Downtown Nashville on Music Row, so we also spent time at The Parthenon in Centennial Park and Harpeth River State Park.

The Parthenon building and Athena statue are both full-scale replicas of the Ancient Greece originals. Once our tour of the museum was complete, we walked along Centennial Park Trail Loop, which is adjacent to the Parthenon. We made our way around Lake Watauga, seeing the Parthenon from different vantage points. Then we headed over to Centennial Park Sunken Garden to snap a few photos on the bench dedicated to Taylor Swift.

We wanted to go hiking, so we made the short drive to Harpeth River State Park. We hiked a few trails including the Gossett Tract and The Narrows of the Harpeth.

What did we miss? We only had 2 ½ days to tour an entire city, so we tried to hit the highlights. Where should we go next time?
